Job Summary and Qualifications

The Sepsis Coordinator is responsible for providing performance improvement (PI) support and leadership to various clinical and non-clinical service lines participating in concurrent and retrospective review facilitating PI teams and coordinating all aspects of the medical staff peer review process.

This position involves the following :

• Identifying and coordinating activities geared towards patient care processes and outcomes for the septic patient population
• Collaborating across the organization with appropriate leaders to develop metrics, data collection and methodologies
• Provide analysis to achieve department and organizational performance improvement goals
• Develop reports that support PI activities
• Maintains communications with administration, medical staff and departmental leaders regarding PI activities

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Must be a Registered Nurse
• Must have a BSN - MSN is preferred
• Clinical Nurse Leader is preferred
• A minimum of three years' experience in a critical care or emergency nursing environment is required
• Must have an RN license in the State of Texas - Compact is accepted
• Must have expertise in quality data / peer review data abstraction, data analysis and improvement strategies
• Must have the proven ability to facilitate and lead groups to project completion
• Must have a working knowledge of continuous quality improvement concepts, tools and healthcare applications
