Director of Innovative Programs (4801) - The Fung Institute

Overview Director of Innovative Programs (4801) at The Fung Institute — UC Berkeley. This role will plan, direct, administer, and ensure excellence in all programmatic and administrative matters related to existing and new programs and activities as assigned by Institute leadership. Responsibilities 45% Program Management : Directs and administers complex programs (degree and non-degree) with administrative and programmatic responsibilities; oversee development and administration; day-to-day management including HR and QA; advise on personnel actions; establish policies; manage admissions; recruitment and marketing; engage with students; serve on committees; track enrollments, revenues, expenditures; assess and adjust program content and outcomes; related duties. 30% Curriculum Development and Instructional Management : Develop and manage new courses; collaborate with Academic Working Group; identify faculty; manage delivery models; oversee curriculum approvals; QA of course delivery; onboarding instructors; define capstone projects; related duties. 20% Special Projects; 5% Professional Development Required Qualifications Advanced knowledge of University rules and procedures for graduate degree administration, online education, budget, accounting, fund management, and personnel management. Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; ability to work with diverse groups. Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, advising. Advanced knowledge of administrative operations (event planning, fundraising, risk management, website design, accounting / payroll, contracts and grants). Strong customer service, problem-solving, adaptability, program assessment experience. Advanced knowledge of university computer applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality; strategic planning and analysis skills; financial / human resources knowledge. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
