Growing boutique law firm looking for associate with 0-4 years of experience in family law. Firm is a teaching firm, and will allow associate to grow into the role under direct supervision and guidance. Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities :
- Represent clients in court in family law cases (including divorce, child custody, and support) and Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) cases.
- Draft and review discovery requests and productions of discovery; compile and analyze discovery materials.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions and agreements.
- Conduct legal research and memoranda and stay updated on changes in relevant areas of law.
- Attend court hearings and trials and present cases effectively.
- Provide legal advice and support to clients throughout the process.
- Negotiate settlement agreements.
- Collaborate with paralegals and other legal staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Maryland State Bar and in good standing.Strong analytical, research, problem solving and writing skills.Ability to build rapport with clientsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.Commitment to providing high-quality legal representation to clients.Responsible and reliable.Company Description
