We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Controls Engineer II to join our growing team in Humble, TX . This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in electrical design, automation, and project management, who thrives in a fast-paced environment with complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer sophisticated automation systems across high-impact industries; water / wastewater, food & beverage, and life sciences to name a few
- Own the full lifecycle of PLC, HMI, and VTScada system programming; design, test, debug, and optimize using platforms like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Schneider Electric
- Deliver high-impact automation solutions by developing precise Bills of Materials and I / O lists, that drive system reliability and performance
- Project manager, with full ownership of scope, schedule, and budget. Engaging directly with customers to manage expectations, gather feedback, and resolve technical concerns
- Collaborate with top-tier engineering and operations teams across multiple sectors to deliver innovative, reliable automation solutions
- Solve complex challenges through hands-on troubleshooting of control systems and automation equipment
- Create engineering documentation; single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring schematics
- Champion safety and compliance by adhering to industry regulations and electrical standards
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects on track and aligned
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering3 years minimum experience in controls design, PLC programming, and industrial automationHands-on experience with SCADA / HMI platforms; Wonderware, Ignition, or FactoryTalkUnderstanding of industrial communication protocols Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet / IPWorking knowledge of instrumentation and process control systems able to support and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, and control loops in manufacturing settingsRequired proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical to create and modify electrical schematics for control panel design and system layoutsStrong analytical & problem-solving abilities to diagnose complex issues and implement effective, data-driven solutionsExcellent communication & collaboration skills comfortable working cross-functionally and clearly conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholdersCompensation & Benefits Highlights
