n nThe Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is currently looking civilian Simulator Pilot Instructor, GS-2181-12 at the 80th Operations Group at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX.
n nRecruitment and Retention Incentives may be available base eligibilityIn this role, you will serve as an aircraft simulator and academic instructor for students enrolled in the US Air Force Undergraduate Flying Training program.
You will instruct students with basic skills involving aircraft flight, instruments and night flying, formation flying, performing aerobatic and evasive maneuvers, cross-country flights to unfamiliar fields, and flying low-level missions.
In addition, you will make necessary corrections and / or modifications with curriculum, and to update training policies and procedures.
n nMinimum Flight Hour Requirements (Flight Logs are mandatory) : n n- 1500 Total Flight Hours n- 250 Pilot-In-Command Hours n- 75 Night Flying Hours n- 75 flight hours of Instrument Time (at least 10 hours must be in actual instrument conditions) n- 500 Instructor Time Flight Hours (Fixed Wing) n nMandatory documents : n n- Flight Logs (military and / or civilian) n- FAA Certifications, following will be accepted : Fixed wing with Instrument rating, Certificated flight instructor, Military instructor pilot rating n- DD 214 or In Lieu of Letter (if applicable) n- SF 50 (if applicable) n- At least three references n nQualifications : n
- tMust be a US Civilian n
- tExperience as a rated military aviator (pilot) is critical to the successful completion of assigned duties. Previous experience as an instructor in a military aircraft is highly desirable. n
- tKnowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures; aerodynamics, flying fundamentals, aircraft instrumentation, ground and flight emergency procedures, and instrument and visual flight rules, as well as knowledge of training aircraft, and of the operation, characteristics, and limitations of the corresponding aircraft simulator. n
- tKnowledge of the methods, principles, practices, and programs related to curriculum development, instructional techniques, and training resources.
- tSkill in the use of a variety of computer applications and software, to include simulator systems sufficient to meet desired learning objectives. n
- tSkill in demonstrating flying procedures and maneuvers in an aircraft simulator. n
- tAbility to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing to include classroom instruction before large and small audiences.
