Responsibilities

  • Perform database and system administrative tasks, including product installations, upgrades, backups, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, performance tuning, and full life?cycle support of related systems.
  • Develop and implement software using object?oriented programming, focusing on building RESTful services to support the UI, middle tier, and SQL / NoSQL persistence layers.
  • Work with systems engineers and developers to develop detailed designs and translate requirements into a web?based architecture.
  • Work independently and in an Agile team environment.
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements.
  • Integrate new technologies into the existing framework.

Required Skills

  • SQL database development skills (e.g., Sybase ASE, IQ, Replication Server, SAP HANA, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Create, review, and enhance SAP / Sybase and other database SQL / Procedures scripts.
  • Review and refine existing SQL code for performance improvements.
  • Background in database analysis, design, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Maintain smooth operation of multi?user systems, coordinating with network engineers.
  • Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times.
  • Experience in an Agile environment.
  • Strong Unix shell scripting knowledge on Linux (various distributions).
  • Documentation skills (white papers, install guides, presentations).

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of Sybase development experience with strong SQL command.
  • Ability to work in a fast?paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Prior experience with enterprise software or cloud applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, AWS, Google).
  • Experience with Big Data, ETL tools, SAP Data Services, Informatica, and data orchestration tools like Airflow.
  • Knowledge of code delivery mechanisms (Maven, Ant) and repositories (Subversion, Git). Familiarity with CI / CD.
  • Python and / or Java development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

    • Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent training and experience.
  • SAP and professional certifications desired.

    • Mobility

  • 050% travel.
