American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool position requiring 3 years of experience across ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health areas.
Responsibilities
Work as part of the Nursing Resource Team hospital-wide float poolFloat to ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health (Adult Acute, Youth Acute, Addiction Recovery) unitsCare for a diverse patient population, including medical, surgical, psychiatric, and emergency casesNurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit : ICU 1 : 1-2, Med / Surg and ED boarded Med / Surg 1 : 5-6, PCU 1 : 3-4, Behavioral Health 1 : 5-6 days and 1 : 10 overnightUses specialized equipment including KBH / YA Restraint board and lifts12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), with schedule based on unit needsEvery other weekend requiredNotification of unit assignment sent 2 hours prior to each shift; may float mid-shift if neededUnit bed size ranges from 21 to 35 depending on assignmentResponsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting care for a wide range of patient populationsAssists with examinations and procedures, medication administration, and patient / family educationNavy blue scrubs requiredComprehensive general onboarding includes equipment and safety trainingRegular and reliable attendance is essentialMust not reside within 50 miles of the facilityFirst-time travelers are acceptedRequirements
Active ID or compact RN licenseGraduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN highly preferred)Minimum of 3 years' experience in ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health / Psych (experience may be concurrent)Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certificationsNIHSS certificationExperience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilationMust complete Restraint C, MOAB training, and Boundaries module during onboardingDepartment of Health & Welfare Background Fingerprinting requiredBenefits
