The University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank Campus is looking for a savvy Nursing Station Technician to join our team of talented healthcare providers! The University of Minnesota Medical Center represents an integrated academic health care system and is comprised of two hospitals and dozens of adult specialty clinics on both the East and West banks of the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. It is the flagship facility of Fairview providing breakthrough medicine and transforming the health of our community.
The NST on the Neuroscience unit provides care to adult patients with complex medical conditions which require close observation, monitoring and interventions, including but not limited to neurological, neurosurgical, ENT and trauma patients.
Our team provides advanced monitoring using current technology, manages complex medication and infusion therapies. In addition, we care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures / interventions on the unit.
This position is a .3FTE (working 24 hours per 2 week pay period) on the rotating day and evening shifts, every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These are 8 hour shifts.
About the Job
The Nursing Station Technician is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include :
