Summary: Develops and evaluates new processes and improves processes capabilities, efficiency and productivity in all areas of manufacturing. The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate the activities of the manufacturing process for new and existing products. Will be responsible for establishing manufacturing methods and processes for all production lines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Provide technical expertise for manufacturability, product cost, workflow, quality & safety.
- Initiate, support and lead Lean Manufacturing efforts.
- Evaluate and resolve causes of manufacturing and quality problems using RCA techniques.
- Provides exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.
- Prepare, revise and maintain documentation required to support manufacturing including engineering drawings, BOM’s and product routers.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support to other departments as required.
- Develop manufacturing plans to include make vs. buy decisions, manufacturing processes, workflow, plant layout and requirements for resources, facilities and tooling.
- Support and assist product development projects from the manufacturing engineering perspective.
- Monitor quality of engineering drawings, BOM’s and routers to meet customer requirements.
- Looks for ways to reduce product cost while improving product quality.
- Assures that procedures and work instructions are correct, efficient and applicable.

- Standing and walking for long periods of time. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Lifting up to 40lbs unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move heavier items utilizing a team lift.
- Repetitive use of hands/motion and have manual dexterity, finger dexterity, and multi-limb coordination.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, respirator mask, coveralls.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Primary duties will be performed in an office setting, with frequent visits to production area. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, in office setting, to loud in production area. While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. PPE required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time. 9/80 Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 5:00PM.
Travel: No travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of material handling, manufacturing equipment and processes, assembly equipment and processes, tooling, jig and fixture design
- Knowledge of common castings types and processes.
- Knowledge of common manufacturing processes including machining, welding, fabrications and assembly line production.
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) manufacturing software.
- Computer experience (3D Modeling, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Power Point preferred)
- Experienced in root cause analysis techniques.
- Experience with Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing techniques.
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques, SPC (statistical process control), PPAP (Pre-Production Approval Process) and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
