Overview
The Product & Customer Experience Lead is a leadership position within the Technology and Data Division of the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), a cabinet member-led agency housed within CDHS. The Lead ensures that health professionals and members of the public interacting with BHA's digital products—care navigation, service delivery, or provider reporting—have a positive, meaningful experience. The Lead works across the digital portfolio to define vision, roadmap, and product life cycles, translating complex behavioral health needs into scalable solutions and fostering cohesive digital products that bridge gaps between people, providers, and state systems.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for BHA's digital portfolio.
- Lead product discovery, delivery, and user-feedback integration processes.
- Align technical strategy with policy goals and regulatory requirements.
- Reduce fragmentation in behavioral health data systems by developing cohesive digital products.
- Supervise the multidisciplinary Product & Customer Experience Unit, providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and professional development.
- Coordinate with internal teams and statewide partners (e.g., Governor's Office of eHealth Innovation, CDHS Business Innovation, Technology & Security Division) to advance a shared technology vision.
- Drive product usage, usability, and impact assessments and translate findings into actionable design and support changes.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for user engagement, including support workflows and partner meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven (7) years of relevant experience in product management, support or development, human-centered design, technical assistance, or customer engagement with digital products.OR a combination of related education and experience equal to seven (7) years.Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams in product management, human-centered design, technical assistance, or customer engagement.Hands-on execution of product lifecycle management from defining features to integrating user feedback.Track record of translating complex behavioral health needs into user-friendly digital solutions.Experience delivering user education and training programs for digital products.Ability to support development of cohesive products that reduce fragmentation in data systems.Conditions of Employment
Hybrid position : required home office and a 1-4 day in-office schedule per month.Standard background and reference checks required.Travel to meetings and conferences as needed.Motor Vehicle Check may be required for state-owned vehicle use.Appeal Rights
