Designer
Interior Designer
The Designer provides design services to dealership customers. Works closely with dealership sales, order entry and installation groups, as well as customers, to ensure accurate plans and specifications. Works under minimal supervision, carries out design assignments that are larger scale and more complex in nature, exercising considerable to extensive latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attends client planning meetings; presents plans and information to customer for review and approvals maintains and distributes meeting notes
- Review site; conducts field measurements and plan-to-site adherence checks.
- Works independently on the development of original designs or adaptations requiring specialized experience.
- Inventories existing product; produces as-built drawing / specifications as required.
- Conducts in-depth programming; interviews customer / end users, researches workplace requirements, analyze space / furniture needs.
- Develops and presents block and space plans.
- Develops and presents color / finish boards and selections; gains customer approval as required.
- Prepares installation drawings for field personnel. Coordinate electrical locations.
- Develops product specifications; double-checks specifications against plans; gets specifications order-entry ready.
- Manage changes and revisions.
- Recommends and initiates cost saving measures for project through product selection and value engineering
- Stays current with manufactures products and specifications

Estimates design project time; maintains detailed daily time sheets; manages actual time against project estimates.Assists in the writing and presentation of design proposals and contracts to customers.Maintains project documentation, including records of all key decisions, phone conversations, approvals and sign-offs, and notes from all project planning meetings.Manages adherence to project schedule, internal dealership budget, customer's project budges, design task completions and quality of design work.Communicates regularly to customer and sales management regarding project status.Administers workload schedule and daily tasks when design manager is not in the office etc.Working knowledge of the dealership's contract furniture lines, including features / benefits, pricing, application and assembly, specification options ad nomenclature, etc.Working knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code,. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 20 / 20 & AutoCad#ZRCH
