Part-Time Elementary, Middle, or High School Teacher / Tutor Wanted

Passionate about puns? Excited by equations? Love literature? Eager to help students succeed in all subjects? Burnt out on working in "traditional" education?

We are currently seeking a part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center at GradePower Learning Palm Harbor .

This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, math, among other subjects and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Work flexible hours tutoring core subjects and / or SAT / ACT in the afternoons Monday - Friday (optional Saturday) (5-40 hours).

Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, GradePower administration communicates with parents, and all lessons are pre-planned.

Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements :

Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work portions of after-school and evening hours Monday - Friday (3 : 00pm - 7 : 00pm).

Choose the number of afternoons you work, and some Saturday morning classes may be available. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must!

Applicants with upper division math and science expertise and who scored well on the SAT / ACT will be trained to coach SAT / ACT Prep program ($23 / hour).

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements :

Education :

• Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in college / university
• Teaching certification an asset

Experience :

• Some experience teaching / tutoring at a first to 12th grade (or equivalent) level is an asset
• SAT / ACT tutoring experience an asset
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to six students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details) :

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities :

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching is in-person
• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type : Full or Part-Time (Hourly)

Salary : $16 - $23 / hour

Schedule :

• Optional portions of after-school and evening hours Mon - Fri (3 : 00pm - 7 : 00pm)
• Saturday morning optional, not required
