Sr. Associate Product Engineer - Leeds, AL

This is an engineering role responsible for leading all aspects of engineering functions for a product line within Hubbell Power Systems, focusing on electric utility and communications connectors. The role involves collaborating with the product management team to grow sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain product line including cost reductions, drawing updates, engineering change requests, testing, and communication with departments such as operations, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, new product development, and quality.
• Manage product deviations to meet customer demands, including design, testing, and documentation.
• Prepare 3D CAD models and drafts of parts and assemblies using AutoCAD Inventor.
• Perform and review FEA (structural & thermal analysis) on parts and assemblies.
• Review customer specifications, design solutions, and provide cost estimates for pricing.
• Fabricate, assemble, and test prototypes to verify performance.
• Develop and review design concepts, drawings, BOMs, and assembly processes.
• Participate in brainstorming activities led by NPD.
• Conduct quality audits as needed.
• Assist lab technicians with testing to qualify or validate product performance.
• Collaborate with the Product Line Manager to understand industry needs and define product line extensions.
• Support customers with application questions and training on product installation and use.
• Lead new product projects from design to market launch.
• Deliver training presentations and demonstrations to customers.
• Support the quality department in resolving customer complaints.
