Tax Manager/Senior Manager - Real Estate
Tax Manager / Senior Manager $15 billion Real Estate Private Equity Firm / REIT
Reporting to the CFO, this hire will own the tax function in its entirety including tax compliance, structuring and planning for over $15bn of real estate private equity fund structures and several REITs.
70-80% of the time will cover off on their equity real estate platform with the rest very involved with helping determine the tax implications on their sizable mortgage book as well.
Some of the responsibilities will include :
- Manage the tax compliance process. Review of federal, state, K-1 allocations and more.
- Work with the c-suite, Investment Teams, Legal and IR as it relates to Fund structuring.
- Involvement in the deal process helping with due diligence - reviewing deal structures, advising with Investment Teams on applicable tax issues.
- Advising Investment Teams on the impact of transactions restructurings, and Portfolio Company activities.
- Own the quarterly REIT compliance engagement for several private REITs.
Qualifications :
- 6+ years of relevant experience which will include experience within the big 4 and / or real estate private equity or REITs
- Knowledge of tax compliance of Real Estate Investment Trusts is required.
- Experience with tax structuring would be preferred
