We are seeking a Specialty Teacher (Performing Arts) to join our Performing Arts after-school and summer program team!
Job Location : Mott Haven, NY
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate curriculum for performing arts classes.
- Instruct students in a specific aspect of performing arts, including but not limited to acting, singing, dancing, and improvisation.
- Foster creativity, self-expression, and confidence in students through interactive and hands-on activities.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to integrate specific performing arts into a show.
- Organize and oversee performances, showcases, and other events to showcase students' talents.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to artistic exploration and expression.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Theatre, Dance, Music, or related field.
- Specialization in non-specific performing arts (e.g., general performing arts, multi-disciplinary arts).
- At least one year of experience teaching performing arts to students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Passion for and knowledge of performing arts education, including current trends and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
