Customer Service Representative (Plumbing & HVAC Supply Counter)

Winsupply of Charlottesville is looking to add full time Counter Service Representatives to our team. Our operating hours are Monday – Friday from 7am-4 : 30pm.

Winsupply of Charlottesville is a fast-growing local wholesaler in a multi-billion dollar industry. Company Benefits :

  • Annual pay ranges from $37,000-$45,000.
  • Annual Profit Sharing Bonus – Up to 10% of annual compensation based on personal and company performance (eligible after first year of employment).

Now for the boring stuff…

Responsibilities :

  • Provide outstanding service to customers at the counter sales area and to those calling, texting, or emailing, providing prices, lead times, and product application information.
  • Accurately pick items from the warehouse to fulfill customer orders over the counter and for will call or delivery.
  • Assist customers with warranty issues and returns as needed.
  • Inform customers of promotions, volume purchasing, and other incentives (as appropriate).
  • Take pride in the appearance of the warehouse and counter sales area; clean as needed; restock items and arrange displays.
  • Problem-solving with customers to help find the right products to fit their needs.
  • Continuously learn of new products and apply knowledge of products to help customers find more efficient solutions.
  • Keep supervisor / purchasing agent advised of items frequently requested by customers that are not in stock; report out-of-stock items, suggest adjustments to re-order levels, etc.
  • Assist in filling orders from the warehouse as needed.
  • Qualifications / Experience :

    Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bilingual proficiency - candidates who are fluent in English / Spanish are preferred.
  • Previous counter sales, plumbing or HVAC knowledge, or order pulling experience preferred, but not required. Without previous experience, expect to spend the first 1-3 months working in the warehouse and pulling orders as on-the-job training.
  • Ability to quickly learn organizational procedures and operations.
  • Ability to analyze non-complex administrative details and correct routine error situations.
  • A high degree of math competency and ability to maintain arithmetic and statistical accuracy.
  • Possess good oral communication skills.
  • Operate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to learn our business software (WISE) in order to produce sales orders and execute other duties specific to your Company.
  • Must work well with other people. Help management, co-workers, customers, and others meet their objectives and complete their assignments.

    The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations :

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle material weighing up-to 50 pounds.
  • The performance of essential job functions for this position requires both access to valuable assets and interaction with others under potentially stressful conditions. Therefore, individuals demonstrating a history of illegal substance abuse, theft, or violence present a higher risk of loss and may be disqualified.
