Job description

What We Can Achieve Together :

The Leveraging Our Lands (LOL) Project Manager will support project implementation for cross-functional project teams to execute LOL strategic priorities including audience research, digital optimization, on-site and digital activation, storytelling and equitable access initiatives. They will critically assess project scope and objectives, ensuring all risks and dependencies are addressed in the project plan in order to deliver successful project results that support the fulfillment of the objectives. This role consults with the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications for LOL to develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, timelines and success metrics in collaboration with internal stakeholders aligned with internal processes and best practices. They will support the ADMC for LOL in coordinating efforts across business units to ensure that visitor engagement tactics and messaging align with the strategy. They will work with the Equitable Access Program Manager for LOL to ensure projects prioritize accessibility and inclusion in their implementation. Throughout the project lifecycle, the Project Manager will facilitate team decision-making processes, ensuring project deliverables meet strategic goals and stakeholder expectations, while monitoring project progress, managing risks and implementing corrective actions to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. They will utilize project management methodologies and processes and ensure all organizational and divisional standards are met. They will act as a resource to MAC and LOL teams to provide project management guidance and expertise on LOL strategy implementation.

This position requires traveling occasionally and working long and flexible hours as needed. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and / or strain.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned project manager who thrives in dynamic, cross-functional environments and is passionate about connecting people with nature.

You'll work closely with the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications for LOL to manage internal teams across geographies and disciplines in project implementation, ensuring alignment and consistency in how TNC engages visitors-both online and on the ground.

You'll be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives, including :

  • Coordinating digital platform enhancements that improve how visitors discover and plan trips to TNC preserves, often requiring collaboration across marketing, digital, and IT teams.
  • Supporting audience research projects that inform messaging and engagement strategies, including managing timelines, vendor relationships, and internal reporting.
  • Managing stakeholder alignment across business units, ensuring that messaging, tactics, and outcomes are consistent with the LOL strategy and TNC's broader goals.
  • Partnering with the Equitable Access Program Manager to integrate accessibility and equity considerations into all project phases, including working with subject matter experts to ensure trail information, iconography, and storytelling reflect inclusive design principles.

This is a three-year term position, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on how TNC connects people to nature. This role will require occasional travel for in-person team meetings. What You'll Bring :

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • 2 years of project management experience or 1 year acting as a project lead.
  • Coursework or other training on project management principles experience.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple projects.
  • Experience managing project teams and working with cross-functional staff.
  • Experience managing scheduling and financial aspects of small to large projects that range from short to long term.
  • Experience using project management techniques and tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, and fluency in project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort working across departments and geographies
  • Experience building consensus across stakeholders and keeping teams aligned.
  • Ability to critically assess project scope and objectives, anticipate risks, and adjust plans as needed to meet evolving priorities.
  • Experience with inclusive design and equitable access, and commitment to ensuring that all visitors feel welcome and informed when engaging with TNC preserves.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, synthesizing input, and communicating project updates clearly to internal audiences.
  • Attention to detail and accountability with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated.
  • Ability to manage and implement complex processes.
  • Experience supervising staff, interns and / or volunteers.
  • Proficiency in interpreting guidelines and manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
  • Certification in project management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to negotiate, influence, and persuade.
  • Successful experience implementing strategic program goals.
  • Salary Information :

    This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $67,500-$100,000 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. For all other applicants, pay ranges will be in local currency, the pay range will be based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally, for all applicants, actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including, for example, the candidate's qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
