Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing Support
Caterpillar's Advanced Materials Technology (AMT) division supports the company's heat treat manufacturing equipment, processes, and technological development around the world. AMT is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to deliver world-class support to our business unit customers. In this role you will have an opportunity to provide the technical solutions on heat treat equipment mechanical design, lead & update new equipment layout drawings as well as planning and delivery of innovative technology projects in the manufacturing space.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
Provide mechanical & manufacturing engineering technical support for heat treat operations at various global facilities.
Update existing and / or and create new equipment drawings
Evaluate new equipment infrastructure requirements
Provide mechanical design for plumbing (water systems / cooling systems / calculate flows & pressures)
Review pumps properties and determine requirements on the water systems
Evaluate and promote new technologies and systems for manufacturing optimization
Support introduction, troubleshooting & validation of new products and processes to alleviate ergonomic / safety, quality, efficiency and cost bottlenecks
Provide technical support to production floor operations
Qualification :
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent industry experience
Demonstrated experience using AutoCad, SolidWorks, & 3D modeling
Top Candidates will also have :
Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering disciplines
2-5 years of experience supporting manufacturing, maintenance and installation of new systems
Data analytics experience
Experience with large New Capital Introduction
Strong planning, problem solving skills, and prioritization skills
Good written and oral communication skills
