We are seeking a Medical Director of Behavioral Health (Psychiatrist) for a Community Health Center in Harlem, NY.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions
  • Develops and approves treatment plans, recommending evidence-based interventions
  • Documents all services in the electronic health record
  • Leads clinical rounds, group therapy (as available), and high-risk case reviews
  • Provides clinical oversight, supervision, and training for behavioral health staff
  • Participates in hiring, performance evaluations, and trainee education
  • Engages in care planning, community outreach, and quality improvement efforts
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

  • Psychiatrist (MD) degree with a minimum of 5 years working directly with clients.
  • One year of experience working in a community health center working with HIV / AIDs, addiction medicine, and the unhoused populations
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience providing clinical supervision to other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, fellows, and / or psychiatric nurse practitioners
  • New York State license, DEA registration, BLS / CPR certification, Board Certification.
