Job Responsibilities
Reviews / verifies, maintains, and corrects the entering of information into HMMS and SCEIS to ensure employees time is entered correctly in preparation of payroll for the Florence, Marlboro and Williamsburg bridge units, Florence bridge inspection, Florence and Horry signal shops.
Prepares and enters requisitions, direct payment vouchers for goods and services, reviews, coordinates and advises the executionof policy, procedures, rules and regulations in relation to the procurement of goods and services for use by the bridge maintenance and signal shop units.
Serves as admiunistrative support for the Distrsit Bridge Engineer, Assistant District Traffic Engineer and their subordinates.
Coordinating and processing personnel actions for District Bridge staff and District Signal Shop staff-including preparation of all new hire paperwork, dismissals, promotions, reclassifications, various leaves and suspensions.
Assists employees and retirees in completing paperwork on insurance matters, job verifications, social securityand retirement.
Answers the telephone and general questions that can be answered independently, taking citizen complaints and requests for service as well as entering the information into the Highway Management Maintenance System (HMMS) and forwarding to the proper authority for assessment.
Prepares inventory reports and information used in compiling yearly operating budget. Monitors compliance with approved budgets to avoid overage or inappropriate expenditures.
Assists with emergency and inclement weather operations, may include extended hours and / or 12 hour shifts.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer.
May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
