Daily tasks and responsibilities.
Reporting remotely to the Chief Executive Officer you will :
- Be the point person for our Glendale Heights site
- Oversee all day-to-day operations and production activities and keep things running smoothly without interruptions or delays
- Coordinate workflow between the facility and the Center of Excellence in Montreal
- Operate state-of-the-art printers
- Supervise and support production, logistics, design, accounting and experience teams
- Manage production schedule (Orders in queue, Shifts)
- Help create, implement, evaluate and improve tools and processes as well as quality standards
- Ensure completion of quality control of finished goods, 5S audit checklists
- Ensure data collection for key metrics to gain visibility on performance
- Ensure everyone has what they need to effectively do their jobs : purchase the required material, tools and provide training as needed
- Ensure JIT dunnage processing and preparation for return to suppliers
- Certify the completion of regular inspections : daily forklift inspection checklist, racking inspection, monthly plant inspection, etc.
- Onboard and train team members using our internal training system
- Assess team performance and identify strengths and weaknesses
- Help establish development plans for team members
- Deliver monthly financial reports to CEO and financial controller
- Provide progress reports and improvement suggestions to upper management
- Manage inventory (ink, cans, accessories)
- Seek opportunities to increase overall efficiency
- Ensure employee morale is consistently upheld and help develop a culture of accountability and ownership
- Ensure cross departmental collaboration, open communication, understanding and effectiveness (experience, logistics, design, accounting and production teams)
- Facilitate continuous improvement using the KATA method
- Strive to achieve (and why not surpass!) our daily production objectives
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are communicated and followed
- Ensure on-time order delivery to our customers
- Maintain outstanding customer service
Knowledge and skills required
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Management preferred. Accounting experience an asset
- 5+ years of proven management experience with preference to experience in industrial manufacturing
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
- Excellent organization skills and flexibility
- Strong mechanical skills
- At ease with technology
- Great communication skills
- Prior experience building and leading teams
- Enthusiastic, team spirited and has a positive attitude
The candidate for this position must be able and available to travel to Montreal, QC, Canada for training
