About The Position

Description :

Position available in the Neuro ICU.

Start date is 3-4 weeks out per compliance tier.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty.

First-time travelers are accepted.

Weekend requirements are every other weekend.

Candidates must possess certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIH.

Preferred certifications include TNCC and BSN.

10 hours of stroke education is required to complete during orientation.

No on-call requirements.

Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs.

Block scheduling not accommodated.

Local candidates not accepted within a 75-mile radius.

Pending license accepted.

Restricted time off is a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract.

Guaranteed hours are 3 shifts per 13 weeks.

Will need to complete patient care management including ischemic strokes, neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, hemorrhagic strokes, and neurotrauma.

Special procedures include management of vasoactive medications, central and arterial line management, and ICP monitoring.

Special equipment includes external ventricular drains.

Candidates must complete 10 hours of stroke education total.

Daily census is 25 patients with a total of 29 beds in the unit.

Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, pharmacy, social services, radiology, and transportation.

All travelers will float within the service line.

Patient age groups primarily consist of adults.

Knowledge of EPIC charting system preferred.

Each candidate must have two supervisory references from the last two years at the time of submittal.

Travelers will be required to pass all compliance and clinical checks prior to starting.

Candidates must maintain updated skills and certifications.
