Job Description :
This position oversees and manages human resources of Training and Development, Central Education, and Nursing Professional Development Division. Holds 24 / 7 responsibilities, including supervision and performance management functions of department, as well as daily and ongoing personnel management. Assists in the overall strategic planning for the department in coordination with the Director.
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with the Director of Professional Practice and Magnet Program to manage the daily operations of the Training and Development, Central Education, and Nursing Professional Development Division.
- Oversees all unit Nursing Professional Development Generalists, Specialists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and student placements.
- Develops and implements strategic action plans to support the goals and objectives of the organization.
- Ensures hospital policies, protocols, and practice standards are upheld in orientation classes, competencies, and educational offerings, and seeks evaluations and improvement opportunities for each.
- Incorporates Intermountain Health KPIs into competencies and educational offerings.
- Works with Clinical Educators, Nurse Professional Development Specialists / Generalists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists to develop processes to monitor clinical staff performance in compliance with established timeframes.
- Develops, revises, and implements clinical policies and procedures.
- Partners with Clinical Managers, Directors, and the Director of Professional Practice to assess and hold staff accountable to hospital and department competencies.
