Job Summary
The Administrative Staff Officer III - Personnel Lead in the Research Administrative and Fiscal Affairs (RAFA) Office provides strategic oversight and leadership for all human resources, personnel, and payroll functions in the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) area. This position ensures operational effectiveness, compliance with university policies, and alignment with institutional human resources standards across all OVPR units, including research centers, institutes, core facilities, and administrative offices. Working closely with the Research Area Fiscal Officer, this position manages complex HR and personnel processes, oversees position budgeting and payroll operations, and provides expert guidance to unit leaders and personnel managers throughout the OVPR area. The Personnel Lead will supervise RAFA staff responsible for HR and payroll administration. As a supervisor, the Personnel Lead will set clear expectations, provide coaching and performance feedback, and foster professional development. This position will promote communication and collaboration across HR and financial functions. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on management. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence and compliance, and will play a key role in supporting the University's research mission.
