Primary Purpose Under the general direction of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Director of Video Analysis and Scouting utilizes video analysis and knowledge of human movement, exercise, and sport to develop and prepare student-athletes for competition.

Assists the Head Coach with scouting opponents by evaluating the abilities, skills, and movement of opposing student-athletes to create a competitive advantage. Essential Functions

  • Utilizes technology designed to analyze player movement, skills, and tendencies in order to improve competitive sports performance.
  • Analyzes human movement data using a wide variety of technology / software and prepares reports of opposing teams and their players.
  • Oversees the recruitment and training of student managers who will assist in the setup, capture, and analysis of human movement via video and other related technologies.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach; including the scheduling of facilities, travel management, equipment management, and overall operations of an NCAA Division I men’s basketball program.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Coaching, Sport Science, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of related basketball experience : playing, coaching, or player development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the sport of basketball and athlete skill development
  • Previous experience utilizing human performance technology in order to aid in the analysis and instruction of athletes;

to include software such as Hudl, Sportscode, Synergy, etc.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to record, edit, and disseminate athlete performance data.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise General knowledge of NCAA, West Coast Conference and University of the Pacific rules and regulations as they pertain to student-athletes and prospective student-athletes.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Environment / Work Week / Travel : Work is performed in both a standard office environment as well as at sports venues.

Work is performed during standard business hours, as well as during non-regular office hours to fulfill business needs. Travel may be required.

Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business.

The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record. Hiring Range $66,560.
