Role and Responsibilities :
Perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographs.Select and operate radiography equipment effectively for quality procedures.Interpret physicians' orders accurately for imaging procedures.Adhere to radiation safety protocols and hospital guidelines.Support physicians during procedures that require sterile technique.Prepare and administer necessary radiopaque contrast media.Evaluate and monitor patients' conditions throughout radiologic procedures.Ensure optimal patient care during exams.Document and verify relevant patient clinical history for licensed practitioners.Carry out any additional department duties as required.Perform minor equipment maintenance and report any issues to the supervisor.Qualifications :
Education : Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or meet Texas certification requirements for Medical Radiologic Technologist.Experience : Entry-level graduates are welcome based on shift needs.Licenses and Certifications : Texas Department of State Health Services certification or temporary certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist; ARRT (R) certification or eligibility required within 12 months post-hire; Basic Cardiac Life Support or CPR certification is necessary within 30 days of employment.St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a 368-bed acute care facility offering diverse specialties and advanced services, including an accredited oncology program with adult transplant support, comprehensive trauma care, cardiac and orthopedic programs, and more.
