RoadGuard protects people and critical infrastructure in some of the most challenging and sensitive environments. The company innovates and implements optimized solutions that protect people and improve infrastructure.

RoadGuard is hiring an Estimator I to drive estimating, design, and bidding across all commercial and industrial fencing and gate / access system projects in the Western U.S.

Responsibilities

• Utilize ZenDesk to capture all potential bids.
• Interpret engineering drawings, topographic maps, and technical specifications to develop optimal fence and gate system designs and layouts.
• Develop bid packages in Bid2Win software.
• Review drawings and specifications from Contract Documents (RFP, Specifications) to determine quantities and to calculate pricing.
• Communicate and interact with subcontractors in various trades to obtain pricing for projects.
• Determine quantities of materials in various trades.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess the conditions of the site or existing building, as necessary.
• Solicit and receive bids, reviewing for scopes of work and pricing for completeness.
• Communicate with bidders for final overview and assure completeness of bid prior to inclusion in an estimate or bid.
• Review drawings and specifications for assigned portions of Preconstruction Projects to calculate budgets from schematic through final construction documents as assigned.
• Communicate with team members and others as required regarding scopes, pricing, construction details, etc.
• Perform detailed take-off for self-performed work.
• Price work as required to budget for most trades.
• Attend kick-off meeting with Estimators, Project Manager, and Superintendents.
• Participate in presentations to owners and architects as needed.
