Position Summary : As a Medical Assistant, you will assist providers in our medical office, handling both administrative and clinical duties with attention to detail, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
Education / Certification :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program required.
- Certification through AAMA, AMT, ARMA, NRMA, AAMP, NHA, or NCCA Certification will be required within six (6) months of your start date.
Experience : Previous experience in a medical facility is highly preferred.
Competencies :
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, confidential medical environment.Team-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and perform light to moderate lifting.Strong computer and keyboarding skills.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Greet patients and prepare them for examination per established protocols.Keep patient information current and document all sample medications dispensed.Provide oversight for the vaccine program per State guidelines.Maintain inventory of medical supplies and report to Office Coordinator / Practice Manager.Assist physicians with office procedures, perform EKG and Spirometry as needed.Communicate lab results to patients and arrange follow-ups as instructed by providers.Schedule referrals and outside testing as directed by physicians.Maintain a neat and organized work area and adhere to HIPAA requirements.Be part of a Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team and contribute to the positive atmosphere in our office.
