Position : Speech-Language Pathologist
Location : Special Services Department
Rate : $67 / hour
Requirement : Must possess a valid NJDOE Speech-Language Specialist certificate
Qualifications :
- Completion of a Master’s degree with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, communication disorders or speech-language and hearing science
- Applicant must hold or be eligible for a Speech / Language Pathologist Professional License from the State of New Jersey
- ASHA certification is preferred; however, CFY’s may be considered if supervision is accessible.
- Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of four hours per work day.
- Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.
- Favorable criminal background check and child registry check required.
- 2 Step Tuberculin test.
General Responsibilities :
Assess and diagnose : Evaluate speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in studentsCreate treatment plans : Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech-language needsProvide therapy : Use diagnostic tools and therapy techniques to support the curriculumEducate : Train and educate students, parents, and other professionalsCollaborate : Work with teachers, parents, and other professionals to achieve goalsMaintain records : Keep detailed records and report progressOrganize : Organize the school program and coordinate services with other student servicesParticipate : Attend school events and contribute to the school community
