Administrative Assistant (Crime Information Bureau)
Job Overview :
This position is an Administrative Assistant 2 and provides technical and administrative support for the Crime Information Bureau in the areas of customer service, Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) access and Criminal History Records System (CHRS) information.
It provides research and clerical assistance to the Bureau.This position is responsible for processing dispositions and court orders for entry into the criminal history record system.
In addition, this position is required to capture fingerprints from the public for licensing and employment purposes. This position also processes employment and licensing criminal history background checks.
It also performs other duties as assigned.
This is a modified position, meaning it is funded for a specified term.The funding has been approved up through June 30, 2026, with the expectation that funding will be requested again at the end of this time period.
Minimum Qualifications :
- The minimum qualifications for this position are typically acquired by a combination of education and experience that includes a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 to 3 years of job-related experience.
- Experience examples : Clerical experience performing data entry and / or data processing procedures; preparation of input & output materials involving coding, batching, cataloging, posting;
reviewing reports, maintaining logs and records; experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
CJIN Certification is required but can be obtained within the first six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications :
- A current Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) Certification
- Fingerprinting knowledge
