The part-time flagger position is responsible for supporting line and tree trimming crews by providing safe and efficient traffic control at or near job sites.

Job Duties

• Responsible for the safety, direction and control of vehicle and pedestrian traffic at or near District job sites.
• Provide clear and positive guidance to drivers and co-workers through use of traffic control equipment.
• Must perform duties in an alert manner while keeping traffic moving, ensuring the safety of motorists, crews and themselves.
• Communicate specific instructions verbally to team members by radio in accordance with operating practices.
• Must perform duties in a courteous and respectful manner, even when dealing with agitated drivers.
• Attend three of the four flagger safety meetings per year to be eligible in the flagging pool.
