Job Summary :
The State of Michigan's Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage and maintain SQL Server databases, with a strong focus on Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs. The role involves implementing and managing High Availability / Disaster Recovery solutions and ensuring data security through Transparent Data Encryption. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence in Lansing, MI, two days per week.

Responsibilities :
- Database administration specifically on SQL Server 16 and upwards.
- Implement and manage HA / DR solutions like Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and point-in-time restore.
- Manage Transparent Data Encryption within SQL Server.
- Manage Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
Required Skills & Certifications :
7+ years of Database administration specifically on SQL Server 16 and upwards.In-depth knowledge of Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.Proven experience in implementing and managing HA / DR solutions like Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and point-in-time restore.Expertise in Transparent Data Encryption within SQL Server.Bachelor's DegreePreferred Skills & Certifications :
