HII Unmanned Systems Buyer Position

HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team in Pocasset, MA. As our new Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, and purchased services. You will plan and schedule purchases for material orders, negotiate agreements with suppliers to attain acceptable quality, best price, and timely deliveries, and maintain contact with all markets and vendors from which the company procures goods or services.

Your role will involve preparing vendor purchase orders, entering them into the computer, and emailing as required. You will also issue and monitor company quotation requests for all material to be purchased, work within the cost reduction program aimed at lowering overall purchased goods costs, and use good independent judgment and work with little to no direction. Additionally, you will process approved requisitions in the ERP system, source new suppliers based on policies and procedures for ISO 9001 : 2015 and government contract requirements, and manage procurement processes in compliance with FAR / DFAR regulations.

You will ensure all purchasing activities align with internal policies and procedures in support of CPSR audits and perform other duties as assigned. You will procure, source, and negotiate the buying of machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and / or supplies necessary for the operation of an organization. You will compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives, monitor performance of suppliers, evaluate areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions, and track data to keep informed on price trends and market dynamics.

We are looking for someone with 6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience. Bonus points for experience in purchasing for government contracts, APICS Certification, Costpoint ERP experience, purchasing in a manufacturing environment, and commodity management.

Physical requirements for job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
