UCT is looking for a talented Project Engineer to join us in Austin, TX or Phoenix, AZ!
Responsible for the execution of projects assigned by the Engineering leadership. These projects may include design, build, and installation of new process equipment, process equipment modifications, new facility design and facility modifications as required. Success of this position will be based on the ability to complete all projects within scope, on time, and on budget. Responsibilities involve designing and developing, installing, and maintaining high volume manufacturing equipment, understanding the reactions taking place, installing control systems, and starting, running, and upgrading the processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manages engineering activity within a project to ensure timely introduction of new products, capital projects and new facility construction. Maintains Gantt charts and milestone plan for project accordingly.
- Responsible for design elements involved in modifications / new builds and effective implementation / installation of design.
- Creates dimensionally accurate facility layouts on AutoCAD for facility expansions or changes based on existing as-builts.
- Builds detailed equipment matrix to define specific equipment requirements for construction trades after developing facilities print.
- Works with general contractors and facilities team to answer questions and address issues found with design during build.
- Leads site commissioning activities when construction is complete to qualify tanks for production use.
- Manages customer expectations (internal or external), establishing priorities, maintains projects involving a variety of technical resources, including, Design, Equipment, Engineering, R&D, procurement, facilities, vendors, EH&S, and operations.
- Develops new processes and procedures (including process controls as necessary) in conjunction with UCT engineering.
- Builds and submits CapEx requests including detailed scope of work, costs, and basic ROI calculations.
- Recommends new facilities and equipment (or modifications to existing facilities and equipment) as necessary to improve safety, operating capacity, operating effectiveness, or operating costs.
- Schedules and tracks engineering projects / quotes to ensure timely completion.
- Works with site EH&S to ensure all equipment and manufacturing operations within project scope meet required safety standards.
Other Duties
Job requires travelling to project job sites for 2 weeks or more to be successful. Periods of >40% travel is possible with job.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD.Proficient knowledge of semiconductor cleaning processes (developed on the job).Knowledgeable in Clean room protocols, and Micro contamination knowledge (developed on the job).Advanced understanding of semiconductor Processes (PVD, Etch, ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition), Diffusion, etc.)Educational / Certification Requirement :
Bachelor's degree in engineeringFE preferredExperience Requirement :
Work Experience :
≥ 1 year experience in industry through engineering, facilities, or project management role.Experience with semiconductor industry is preferred, experience in automotive, medical device, or aerospace industries is also applicable.Physical Demands and Working Conditions : This section is required for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA)
