Inpatient Audit Specialist

A company is looking for an Inpatient Audit Specialist to conduct coding audits and provide education related to coding quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inpatient coding audits using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other coding references

Provide coder education and prepare final reports for coding audits

Meet with client facility representatives to discuss audit findings and trends

Required Qualifications and Education

3-5 years of experience in auditing

Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or a certificate from AAPC, with a preference for CCS

Preferred credentials : CCS, RHIT, or RHIA

Recent experience in academic / level 1 trauma centers

Experience with various software including EMR, Encoder, and Auditing software
