Summary
Manages the planning, estimating, permitting, schedule, budget, risk analysis, material procurement, agreements related to the project, prepares projects for bid process and assists with contractor selection, monitors field construction, and in-service facilitation and project close-out.
Collaborates and strategizes with peers within the company and in industry to ensure cost effective project management that heightens the customer experience. Communicates both written and verbally with peers and leadership to provide updates and concerns.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures effective scope, schedule, and cost baselines and drives change management to measure progress against plans and identifies when corrective actions are needed.
- Works with stakeholders to provide safe, efficient, quality construction that complies with policies, practices, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, including project managers, construction managers, engineers, environmental, supply chain, and other project stakeholders, to ensure accountability.
- Leads projects that are driven to exceed customer expectations and meet all established project requirements.
- Promotes relationships with external municipalities and local authorities having jurisdiction.
- Understands and manages project contracts.
- Ensures timely and accurate schedule updates and invoicing.
- Effective team relationships throughout field and office
- Project success is based on the ability to complete all projects in a safe, reliable, efficient manner, within the authorized budget, on time and with no significant environmental/regulatory notices, violations, or citations.
- Monitors and communicates progress of projects related to baselined schedule/milestones, forecasted/approved spends, project status updates, material management, and land services requirements.
- Constant monitoring, evaluation, and leading discussion to mitigate project risks
Education:
Bachelors or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering or related field such as architecture, engineering, or construction is preferred.

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE:
$97,713 - $136,569
The expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Experience
Required
5 years:
Large construction site experience including program planning and development, systems development, resource management, budget maintenance and control, schedule management and control, and design and construction of building and infrastructure projects.
5 years:
Adaptable to client-specific project management and documentation tools with keen attention to detail
5 years:
Verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred
5 years:
Contract negotiation/contract management. A working knowledge of the Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) is a bonus.
5 years:
Management of complex, regulatory driven schedules for infrastructure projects thru all phases including pre-design design, bidding, construction, and occupancy. Management of medium to large capital civil engineering type budgets ($10M+) such as highways, roadways, bridges, waterways, and other infrastructure projects. Management of various technical groups (engineering, environmental, compliance, regulatory, policy)
