Equipment Operator
Trillium Construction is now seeking Equipment Operators in Kent!
Pay rate is $40 to $55 an hour.
Essential Job Functions :
- Operates vehicle safely at all times.
- Obeys all traffic laws and regulations when operating and driving company truck.
- Wears personal protective equipment as required by DOT and OSHA.
- Practices current PSC safety policy.
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as adding oil, fuel, coolant or performing minor repairs, and making sure equipment is always clean.
- Completes a daily vehicle inspection report to assure equipment is safe to operate before leaving company premises.
- Makes sure to check load, equipment, and materials are properly secured prior to transportation.
- Loads or unloads trucks, helps others with loading and unloading, and operates any special loading equipment such as forklifts to assist crew.
- Loads and unloads various types of PSC equipment including excavator and forklift.
- Assists with loading / unloading trucks.
- Performs other duties as assigned such as but not limited to mixing / applying concrete grout to repair damaged barrier, moving dunnage to set barriers, and filling impact barriers with water.
Equipment Used : Will operate an excavator, forklift, use straps and tie downs, CB Radios, cell phone to communicate with crew members. Hours of Work : On call. Hours of work vary due to project timelines.
Knowledge and Abilities :
Knowledge of DOT requirements.Knowledge of FMCSA regulations.Knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures.Knowledge of securely strapping loads regulations.Ability to fill out daily log sheets accurately.Ability to check equipment to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language in order to communicate with staff on all levels.Qualifications :
High school diploma / GED preferred.3 years' experience and valid WSDL Class A endorsement preferred.Knowledge of DOT requirements.Must possess a valid medical card.WSDL Class A endorsement, forklift training, and first aid training must be completed within first 30 days of hire.Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. on a frequent basis.Trillium Construction Services has been recruiting and hiring construction and skilled trades talent for over 30 years.
