This full-time travel contract offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, autonomous clinical environment alongside experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs). Located in the vibrant Mission Bay neighborhood, this California nursing job provides access to urban amenities, waterfront views, and world-class culture.

Key Job Details – Acute Care Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Location : San Francisco, CA 94158 – Mission Bay (urban, waterfront, highly desirable)

Employment Type : Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner (travel contract)

Healthcare Setting : Outpatient Infusion Center with hospital collaboration

Start Date : January 5, 2026

Contract Length : 24 weeks

Schedule : Full-time; 5x8-hour days (08 : 00–19 : 00) or 4x10-hour days; weekends required

Estimated Weekly Pay : $4,660–$5,000

Patient Population : Adult oncology patients; 8–10 patients per day

EMR : Epic

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

Active California Nurse Practitioner license (required for California healthcare jobs)

Board Certification : Adult Outpatient NP (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC)

California DEA Schedule 2 required

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in oncology, including inpatient or high acuity clinical settings

Infusion center experience preferred

Experience managing oncology patients from diagnosis through treatment

OCN or AOCNP certification preferred

COVID-19 vaccine and booster required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Healthcare Responsibilities

Autonomous patient management in a consultative model, collaborating with oncology providers, RNs, and support staff

Conduct independent patient visits, manage adverse reactions, facilitate transfers, and coordinate direct admissions with the Emergency Department (ED)

Provide care for specific oncology disease groups, supporting patients from diagnosis through treatment

Remove lines as needed (preferred skill)

Work closely with inpatient services and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Document patient care in Epic EMR
