Job Opportunity : Journeyman Electrician
This position is a Journeyman Electrician role within the Facility Management Service, Electric Shop at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. The responsibilities include installing, modifying, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing new and existing electrical wires, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Major duties include :
Work Schedule : M-F 7 : 00am to 3 : 30pm with rotating evenings from 2 : 30pm to 11 : 00pm.

Physical Requirements : Repairs and installations are made from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other hard-to-reach places. This requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The work requires frequent lifting and carrying of tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds and, less often, up to 40 pounds.

Note : A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
