Position Overview :

Join Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital as a Travel Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer, providing exceptional cardiac imaging services across a diverse patient population—from neonates to geriatrics. Key Responsibilities :

Perform detailed echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound procedures on patients of all age groups.

Operate GE ultrasound equipment with precision and adherence to best practices.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care.

Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols, including current flu vaccinations (no exemptions or declinations accepted).

Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and post-procedure care to ensure comfort and safety.

Keep detailed, accurate documentation of procedures and findings in accordance with hospital policies.

Participate in bi-weekly orientations and team meetings to stay current with protocols and technology updates.

Certifications & Licenses :

ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) Certification

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

Valid state licensure as required (if applicable).

All certifications must be current and maintained throughout the assignment.

What You Bring :

A minimum of 2 years of relevant echocardiography experience performing cardiac ultrasounds.

Proficiency with GE ultrasound machines and related technology.

Ability to work independently and efficiently within a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Willingness to work every third weekend and on-call one week per month.

Flexibility to work oriented shifts with bi-weekly training updates.

Preferred Education & Experience :

Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related healthcare field.

Extensive hands-on experience with pediatric and adult cardiac ultrasounds.

Prior experience in a hospital setting is highly desirable.

Additional Details :

Flu vaccines are required—no exemptions or declinations accepted.

Scrub color is navy blue.

Local candidates within 75 miles are preferred to facilitate compliance with assignment requirements.
