Position Summary

The Medical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling medical services to healthcare providers, hospitals, clinics, and specialty practices. This role focuses on building long-term client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. The Medical Sales Representative serves as a product expert, provides education and demonstrations, and ensures excellent customer support to drive overall revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, hospital administrators, clinical staff, and other healthcare decision-makers.
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training to prospective and existing clients.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and growth objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in collaboration with leadership as needed.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and CRM entries.
  • Participate in conferences, trade shows, and regional networking events.
  • Provide post-sale customer support and product knowledge updates.
  • Collaborate with marketing and clinical teams to support territory growth initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3+ years of sales experience, preferably in medical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, medical terminology, and buying processes.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience selling medical devices, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, or healthcare services.
  • Existing network of healthcare provider contacts within the territory.
  • CRM platform proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Strong presentation, product education, and consultative selling skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented with a strategic mindset.
  • Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel within assigned territory.
  • Combination of in-office, field visits, and healthcare facility meetings.
  • May require attendance at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings outside standard business hours.
