About This Opportunity
Schedule / Hours : M F 8 : 30 a.m. 4 : 30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)
This position is responsible for :
Planning, administering, coordinating, and monitoring the Human Resource functions for employees; preparing and maintaining personnel records for all employees; enforcing the Worker's Together employee manual; completing paperwork and entering data for background checks, DOT, and E-verify; ensures compliance with personnel rules and regulations and maintains the confidential nature of the position; serves as a liaison between the Corps and Divisional Headquarters regarding personnel functions and policy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Distributes, explains, and enforces the Worker's Together employee manual; investigates and attempts to resolve employee complaints and grievances with assistance from Corps Officer and / or DHQ as appropriate; notifies appropriate Officer / department head when necessary; ensures all employees are treated equally and fairly.
- Reviews and monitors employment applications and terminations, performance evaluations and salary increases for completeness and compliance with established policy; submits the same to the DHQ for approval.
- Completes and / or collects paperwork and enters information into electronic systems for E-verify, DOT, and backgrounds for all employees as required; ensures accuracy and completeness of same; checks systems as required to ensure information is up-to-date; updates and follows-through as necessary; informs supervisor and / or DHQ of issues.
- Participates, with appropriate management, in the disciplinary and termination processes necessary throughout the Area Command; advises management as needed; communicates appropriately with DHQ to ensure proper procedures are taken and followed; ensures paperwork is complete; ensures processes are consistent with past practices and current HR policies.
- Plans and conducts orientation meetings for new employees; ensures that all new employees have a clear understanding of the Worker's Together Employee Manual.
- Informs employees of new or changing policies, special events, special instructions or general information by conducting group meetings and / or preparing correspondence, newsletters, posters, or bulletins.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resource Administration, Business Administration or a related field, and three years progressively responsible experience working in a human resource office, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
