Job description

Risk Management oversees a variety of programs that help ensure a safe, compliant, and resilient workplace, including Workplace Safety, Return to Work, Business Continuity, Enterprise Risk Management, and Enterprise Insurance.

The Workplace Safety Team is responsible for implementing and maintaining the organization's safety initiatives, including the Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Ergonomics Program, and Safety Committees.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Risk Management Analyst to join our team. This position performs a wide range of consultative and analytical assignments related to workplace safety, compliance, and program development. The Risk Management Analyst provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive, safety-focused organizational culture. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn, communicate effectively, and collaborate across departments to promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Various Duties Performed Will Be :

  • Oversee and maintain the Motor Vehicle Safety Program in compliance with laws, regulations, and State Fund policy.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to departments and employees regarding program requirements.
  • Manage the Authorized Drivers list; review Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) reports and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with Cal / OSHA laws and regulations; organize and manage related records, including the OSHA Log and Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses.
  • Maintain and update corporate safety documentation such as the IIPP, Facility Emergency Action Plans (FEAPs), and Code of Safe Work Practices.
  • Administer the AED Program statewide and coordinate testing and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain databases (e.g., Authorized Drivers List, Ergonomic Equipment tracking, Safety Training).
  • Analyze program data, identify trends, and prepare reports to support continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Professionalism, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety and risk management principles.
  • Travel : Some travel may be required for training, work assignments, or as needed.

    The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

    Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.

    Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
