Central Market is a specialty grocery that started in Austin, Texas in 1994, and has grown to multiple locations across the state. This role reports to the General Manager and is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and achieving company objectives across Production and Sales in multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and act as an expert for successful operation and execution of all areas across Production and Sales in Non-Perishable departments (grocery, dairy, frozen foods, healthy living, bulk foods, gift baskets), Perishable departments (Produce, Meat Market, Seafood Market, Floral), and Food Service departments (Kitchen, Cafe, Prepared Foods, Cooking School, Bakery, Deli, and Cheese Departments).
- Oversee multiple departments including merchandising, product mix, product costs, and supervision of Partners via department managers.
- Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit; ensure all federal, state, and company standards for freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met.
- Supervise daily management of Non-Perishable, Perishable, and Food Service departments and merchandising through department managers and self.
- Maintain vendor relations and communicate clear expectations at Central Market.
- Conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals, and solicit partner feedback; train and develop partners; deliver superlative customer service.
Qualifications
Strong supervisory and management skills across production and sales in Non-Perishable, Perishable, and Food Service areas.Long-term strategic and financial planning abilities.Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience; one to two years related experience / training preferred.Proficiency with automated reporting systems (inventory, food cost, scheduling, time & attendance, labor).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to champion new ideas and initiatives; value diversity; handle stressful situations.Analytical, organizational, and planning skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; ability to delegate and develop teams.Equal Opportunity Employment / Drug Free Workplace.Employer and Additional Details
