Actuary - Primary Casualty
In this role you will be a part of the Primary Casualty Insurance actuarial pricing team. You will be the leading actuary for Auto, General Liability or Workers Compensation supporting all businesses that write the coverage.There is focus on Middle Markets, but you will also oversee the line of business for Large Commercial and Wholesale Solutions.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Lead development, testing, calibration, and maintenance of pricing models and rating algorithms including pricing parameter studies, and pricing change impact analysis
- Collect and analyze industry data such as all aspects of ISO/NCCI rating, loss adequacy, alternative bureau rating plans, competitor studies, third party data, and trends
- Perform line specific analysis and monitor performance and consistency across all business units
- Oversee data collection, analysis, quality checking, and reporting.Propose improvements as needed to enhance analytics and increase efficiencies
- Provide rate filing and regulatory support such as reviews of LCMs, while considering the impact of changes to various business units
- Collaborate with business actuaries to provide decision making guidance throughout the entire underwriting process using advanced analytics to drive superior business performance
- Ensure compliance with Pricing Model Standards, maintain required technical pricing documentation, and enforce pricing model governance
You will report to Head of Pricing, Primary Casualty.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Extensive experience in non-life insurance pricing
- Qualification level – Qualified Actuary
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field.
- Middle market, commercial lines, and/or small commercial pricing experience
- Knowledgeable on ISO/NCCI/bureau data, circulars, rating, and products
- Leadership skills to work collaboratively with colleagues to build consensus.
- Robust influencing and negotiating skills
- Robust verbal communications skills and experience gaining buy-in from internal and external clients and stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills
- Robust ability to think strategically
