Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and initiate care for inmates/patients requiring mental health services throughout the facility.

• Assess inmates/patients in various settings to evaluate their mental health status and needs.

• Identify mental health issues and prescribe treatment under the supervision of a physician.

• Implement mental health services and treatment plans using therapeutic regimens approved by psychiatrists.

• Provide mental health education to inmates/patients, healthcare teams, and correctional staff to promote understanding and effective care.

• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all mental healthcare contacts in compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Adhere to all safety and security policies, participate in disaster drills, and follow established security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.

• Delegate infection control tasks and supervise infection control practices to maintain a safe environment.

• Follow Universal Precautions and other infection control protocols to ensure safety across the facility.

• Utilize personal protective equipment as required during treatment and care delivery.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall function and safety of the facility.

Key Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or related field with current state license/certification.

• Must have current CPR certification to ensure patient safety in clinical settings.

• Must be available to participate in the on-call schedule to support critical care needs.

• Subject to background check, security clearance, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
