Job description

Job Title : Production Engineer

Location : Houston

Production Engineer Functional Role

Ensures EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance

Provides technical support to Production and all its personnel to troubleshoot equipment, improve processes, process controls (DCS) and related issues

Provides training on and leads advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving processes

Works collaboratively with Quality on chemistry related issues & method formulation improvements

Develops project scopes and process engineering packages for new installations and retrofit of facilities

Assists in the plant formulation, process safety review, SOP(s) creation, process implementation, start-up support and operator training

Leads or assist in the incident and near miss investigation processes to mitigate risk or resolve

Develops and revises equipment SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) on an annual basis to satisfy OSHA's PSM standard

Responsible for participating in PHA's (Process Hazard analysis) for existing processes as well as new product initiatives

Ensures that the MOC (Management of Change) is adhered to and effectively executed for changes impacting production process, equipment, and instrumentation

Supports the development of KPIs and goals ; monitors KPI performance to identify support needs in addressing performance gaps

Prepare technical progress reports on active projects and initiatives

Satisfies all Corporate Quality Requirements and ISO9001 Quality Management System

Driving a Culture of Continuous Improvement

Partners to drive LEAN / Six Sigma, continuous improvement of processes and operations for increased productivity and efficiency (Operational Excellence)

Actively participates in a culture of continuous improvement through collaborative engagement and by providing suggestions in meetings and trainings to improves processes and systems

Ensures work is accomplished through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; proactively identifies and leverages best practices

Requirements :

Degree in Chemical Engineering

Engineering experience with batch, semi-batch, and continuous processing & controls

Chemical engineering knowledge including, but not limited to, an understanding of fluid transport, heat transfer, filtration, reaction kinetics, general process equipment

High level of initiative and energy
