Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level structural engineer to join our water group.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the structural design of water resource structures and other structural engineering projects
- Evaluating and analyzing existing structures
- Preparing structural plans and specifications for bidding and construction
- Preparing formatted structural calculation packages
- Writing technical reports; and participating in site visits
A valid driver\'s license and some travel will be required.
Qualifications
A bachelor\'s degree (or higher) in civil or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university or within nine months of hireIdeal candidate will have experience and / or knowledge of the following
Structural engineering coursework including design of concrete, steel, masonry and timberStructural analysis and design in-practice (work experience) including concrete, steel, masonry, and anchorageDesign, analysis, and construction methods of water retaining structures and retaining walls using reinforced concreteConstruction administration of structural systems including observations, RFIs, submittal review, and working collaboratively with contractors to develop solutionsStructural engineering software programs including finite element analysis, CAD, 3D modeling, and production programs (such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks, and Bluebeam Revu)Structural engineering codes and standardsPassed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examFamiliarity with in-house calculation tools including spreadsheets (MS Excel)Application and benefits
