JOB SUMMARY FOR CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT – CNA:

We are currently seeking the professional skills of a CNA. This position will be responsible for assisting residents with activities for daily living. This position does require IDPH CNA certification. Experience in a senior setting is preferred, with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with residents and personnel to provide outstanding resident care.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities for Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA:

• Assist nurses with ADL services: Bathing, grooming, dressing, meals, etc.
• Document vital signs, weight, meal intake, bowel and bladder, etc.
• Assist with Restorative Nursing duties
• Answer call lights promptly
• Performs CNA skills
• Observe and adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures
• Identifies safety hazards and emergencies and helps initiate corrective action
• Identifies particular resident problems, reports them immediately to the nurse, and takes an active role in helping problem solve to resolve the issues
• Assumes accountability of compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the unit assigned and within their work span
• Review resident profiles and perform nursing care as outlined
• Able to work independently and is flexible to work all areas when needed
• Correctly completes required ADL tracking
• Observe infection control procedures
• Always leave the resident in a safe environment
• Ambulates and transfers resident per their transfer policy
• Helps to mentor new CNAs
• Restock supplies for the next shift

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT – CNA:

• Current CNA certification in Illinois
• Active and eligible on the Healthcare Registry
• Must have reliable transportation to work
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work as a team
• Maintain an empathetic attitude
• Possess practical communication skills
• Compassion for the elderly
