Summary of Functions

A Construction Foremansupervises and troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site. In addition to ensuring safety rules are always followed, they develop work schedules based upon the availability of employees or contractors and weather conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform the roles and responsibilities for Foreman as listed on the Accountability Chart.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Report project progress to superiors.
• Develop a work schedule for workers.
• Supervise all construction workers.
• Be the liaison between construction workers and supervisors.
• Ability to negotiate.
• Solve disputes between workers.
• Ensure that a project is adequately staffed.
• Assign tasks to construction workers.
• Ensure that the project is staying on or under budget.
• Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
• Perform quality checks on construction equipment.
• Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
• Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
